Audit and
Governance Committee
The Audit and Governance Committee supports
effective corporate governance and gives assurance to the Council
and the public on financial and performance issues, risk management
and other relevant controls.
The Committee considers and approves the annual statement of
accounts on behalf of the Council as well as considers the audit
plans of both internal and external auditors and comments on their
reports.
These meetings are open to the public and
press and will be held in public unless the matter to be discussed
is confidential or exempt.

When it Meets
There are usually four meetings a year,
although additional meetings can be held at any time, with the
appropriate notice.

Public Participation
Members of the public can take part by asking
a question or making a comment having given appropriate notice (at
least by 9.00a.m on the morning of the working day prior to the
date of the meeting).
