CouncilAll Members of the Council May 2011

The full Council of 57 councillors is responsible for agreeing the main policies and priorities for all services (overall policy framework), including the Council's budget.

The Council is also elects the Leader of the Council and for establishing the other committees and panels of the County Council. The Chairman and Vice Chairman are elected by the Council at the annual meeting, usually held in May. Currently the Chairman of the Council is Ed Moore and the Vice Chairman is Robert Adams.

These meetings are open to the public and press and are webcast (where possible)

When it Meets

Meetings of Council will be held six times a year and in public, unless the matter to be discussed is confidential or exempt.  Unless otherwise stated the meetings will be held at 10.00a.m.
