Commercial Waste

<< Back to Recycling and Waste
main page
If you generate waste from a business it is classified
as commercial waste and cannot be disposed of in your normal
'household waste' bin, recycling bin/ bags or deposited at
Household Recycling Centres.
Contact your local
council to see if they have a trade waste collection service,
or find a licensed waste contractor or skip hire company. This
applies to businesses run from home as well as dedicated business
premises.
If you produce or handle commercial waste, you
need to ensure your business complies with legislation laid down in
the Environmental Protection Act 1990. The
Environment Agency will advise you and help you to ensure that
you comply with legislation.
