Parish Paths Wardens

Parish Paths Warden role is a voluntary position, working with
the Countryside Service to help maintain, improve and promote
Worcestershire's public rights of way network, using their local
knowledge
|
Parish Paths Wardens are Parish based and
usually they are nominated by the parish or town council and then
appointed by Worcestershire County Council following an informal
interview with the Countryside Access Maintenance and Improvement
Officer.
Parish Paths Wardens are expected to survey
all the paths within their parish on a yearly basis, waymark the
routes, carry out minor vegetation clearance and minor repairs as
well as act as a local contact.
Parish Paths Wardens would receive training in
all aspects of their work including optional duties they may like
to take on, regular newsletters, as well as advice and support from
their Area Countryside Access Officer.

Recreational Route Wardens
Worcestershire County Council's Countryside
Service manages a number of waymarked circular walks and long
distance trails.
Recreational Route Wardens look after a
circular walk or a section of trail. Each volunteer's role is
to assistance in the maintenance and improvement of each trail, by
regularly inspecting the route, carrying out waymarking, minor
repairs and minor vegetation clearance and report back on the
standard of their section of trail to their Countryside Access
Maintenance and Improvement Officer.
