Your local Parish Paths
Warden

|
The County Council's Countryside Service officers are supported
by a network of volunteer Parish Paths Wardens. These Wardens are
nominated by local parish or town councils and appointed by the
County Council to help to look after the paths in that particular
parish. Their local knowledge and contacts are often
invaluable.
|
The Wardens act as "eyes and ears" on the
ground, reporting back to Countryside Service officers, and
carrying out some or all of a number of basic tasks, such as path
inspections, liaison with landowners, waymarking, vegetation
clearance, minor repairs, leading guided walks and writing
guidebooks or leaflets. In some parishes, volunteer groups
often work with the Parish Paths Warden to undertake large projects
such as the installation of gates, stiles or ditch crossings.
If you encounter problems such as minor
vegetation clearance, poor waymarking, minor maintenance issues or
would like some local insight to a particular path please contact
the Parish Path Warden concerned via your Parish Council. All other
problems encountered on the Public Rights of Way network should be
reported to the Countryside Service via the Worcestershire Hub
on 01905 768214 or e-mail countryside@worcestershire.gov.uk
