1, 1 ½, 2 & 2 ½ miles / 1.6, 2.4, 3.2, 4 kilometres

Do you sometimes long to find peace and fresh air in the middle of a busy town? Four varied walks invite you to explore the largest open space in Redditch. The Woodland, Meadows, Lakeside and Millers Trails all take you round a different part of Arrow Valley Country Park on easy to follow circular walks, each with a free leaflet.  So whether you're in the mood for dappled woodlands, wild flower meadows, wildfowl and watersports, or a river walk with local history, the choice is yours.

Fox Trail at Ankerdine Common Picnic Place

½ mile / 0.8 kilometres

There's a strange sense of awe about the Fox Trail at Ankerdine Common Picnic Place. It's easy to feel a little puzzled, but you're not quite sure why on this mysterious trail. Although this is a fairly short route, with all its hills and turns it certainly helps to clear the lungs and the mind.  More information about the Fox Trail at Ankerdine

Heather Trail at Hartlebury Common

1 mile / 1.6 kilometres

Perhaps this trail is best in summer when the heath is a carpet of mauve Heather attracting colourful butterflies and bees. Or maybe autumn when the trees are turning gold and yellow and patterned fungi clings to the bark. Some would prefer the middle of winter, with the crisp clarity of the views. But then there's spring when birds are singing, flowers are blooming and the whole heath is waking up to a new season. What a difficult choice.  More information about the Heather Trail at Hartlebury Common

The Limestone Trail at Fish Hill Picnic Place

½ mile / 0.8 kilometres

This half-mile woodland walk winds up and down, round and round, like a spaghetti junction in the bold and beautiful Beech woods. Keep your eyes and ears open, and you might be lucky enough for your path to cross an owl quietly watching you perched high in a tree, or a tiny Wood Mouse scuttling quietly past underfoot.  More information about the Limestone Trail at Fish Hill

The Skylark & Rabbit Trails at Waseley Hills Country Park

Or maybe smelt the sweet coconut scent of a gorse bush in flower?  Come and investigate the countryside at close quarters in the rolling hills of North Worcestershire, with the help of the Skylark and Rabbit Trails at Waseley Hills Country Park.  More information about the walking Trails at Waseley Hills

Woodland & Meadows Trails at Worcester Woods Country Park
