The Information You Need
All tenders above £5,000 are advertised on the Councils
E-tendering portal. The deadline for replying to tenders will be
indicated on the contract advertisement and all interested
organisations should send their applications and any relevant
information required to the specified contact.
What happens next?
All applications received on time from interested organisations
will be assessed; this will take into account certain qualifying
criteria e.g. financial suitability, experience and ability to meet
the needs of the contract.
All successful applicants will then be sent tender documents for
the tender as detailed in the notice. Applicants are advised to
note Worcestershire County Council's policy on Equalities, Health
and Safety, Sustainability, Local Purchasing and current Insurance
requirements.
Health and Safety
Any organisation or individual which provides goods or services
to the County Council is required to have in place appropriate
policies and systems which will support and enhance the importance
of health and safety.
Equalities
The council has a duty to ensure that public money is not spent
on practices that lead to unfair discrimination. All organisations
must comply with the Equality Act 2006, Sex Discrimination Act
1975, the Race Relations Act 1976, the Equal Pay Act 1970 and the
Disability Discrimination Act 1995, together with all related
information on social justice regardless of gender, trade union
membership, disability, age, ethnic or national origin, marital
status, religious creed, sexuality or responsibility for
dependants.
Sustainability
Worcestershire County Council is committed to working towards
achieving sustainable development by meeting the needs of the
present without comprising the interests of future generations. We
encourage prospective suppliers to specify less environmentally
damaging products, promote greater use of renewable resources and
use environmentally friendly practices throughout the production
process.
Local Purchasing
The County Council is committed to supporting local business, as
long as statutory requirements to secure 'Best Value' can be
met.
Insurance
Prior to inclusion on the approved list of organisations invited
to tender, it will be necessary for contractors and any nominated
sub-contractors to provide evidence of appropriate insurance.
