Warmer Worcestershire
The Warmer Worcestershire project has produced
a thermal image of the county so you can see how well insulated
your home is, and find out if you could be saving energy
and money.
In a typical British home, one third of the
heat produced by central heating systems is lost through the roof,
walls and windows - discover ways to insulate your home or get advice on
finding an
installer.
For a poorly insulated property, this means that £1 out of every
£3 spent is wasted.
There are many grants and offers available to help improve the
energy efficiency of your property
Warmer Worcestershire also offers information for school and
business and provides answers to frequently asked
questions about the thermal image.
Top tip:
Eliminate draughts and wasted heat by installing a
cheap, easy-to-fix brush or PVC seal on your exterior doors.
Letterboxes and keyholes should be covered too.
(Energy Saving Trust)
Ring Act on Energy on 0800 988 2881 for impartial advice
on whether you are eligible for free or discounted
insulation.
Act on Energy can offer you a range of options and make a
referral to a scheme/contractor of your choice. Contractors will
always offer individual written quotations for any work involved in
insulating your home. Warmer Worcestershire has not authorised any
specific contractor to undertake cold calling, either by telephone
or in person, as part of this project. Warmer Worcestershire
does not approve contractors used in supplying and fitting
insulation. Advice on your rights when having work carried out on
your home is available from Consumer Direct, the Government
consumer helpline on 08454 040506.
