Wrap up before winter
Insulating the walls and roof of your building may sound
expensive and difficult, but it should be less than a day's work to
get both done. The benefits include having a warmer home, using
less energy and helping to save the planet!
Worcestershire County Council has made funding
available for each district council to offer free cavity wall and
loft insulation to all residents over the age of 60 years
old. This funding will be available until the end of 2012 if
funds do not run out before. All free and discounted
insulation schemes (national and local) will cease by the end of
2012. This is the last year to take advantage of these offers.
For further information about the scheme in your area contact

The cost of insulating the average home is £340
If you are not eligible for a grant through the Warm Front
scheme, call Act on Energy on 0800 988 2881

Top tip:
Draughts also get in through gaps in floorboards and
skirting boards, which also allow heat to escape in winter. Stop
this waste by filling these gaps with newspaper, beading or
sealant.
