Education Resources

St Paul’s Boys’ School Cup-winning football team, 1931

Previously the collection was only accessible to a handful of determined scholars. We are now working with schools, adult learners and community groups to take the collection to as many people as possible.

Resources for Schools

We are making outreach visits to city primary schools to support history, geography, literacy, art and drama.  We hope to develop standard workshops and lessons but we are happy to work with teachers’ individual needs.

There are four education resources for Key Stage 3 available on CD. They have been compiled with guidance from secondary school teachers and educational advisors to ensure they support the National Curriculum, and the Personal, Learning & Thinking Skills framework.

All come with a brief discussion of the archive documents used, full transcriptions and high-quality colour images of all the documents.

Public Health in the Nineteenth Century

Private Dancox, V.C.

Queen Elizabeth I's Visit to Worcester, 1575

Worcester City Medieval Ordinances, 1467

The CDs are free to schools. A sample page from each resource can be viewed here. To request copies, please contact us.

Worcestershire Record Office already has a wide range of education packs for schools, covering different parishes, WWI and WWII, the Civil War and the Victorians. For more information about them, please visit the Record Office’s Education Service pages.

Talks & Visits

We are happy to come to your organisation to give a talk, and we can usually arrange to bring some of the original documents to display.

Small groups of up to ten people can be accommodated at the Record Office. Please contact us in advance to book places.
