How healthy are your eyes?
Worcestershire residents over the age of 50
are being invited to come along and get their eyes checked with a
free and simple sight check at County Hall this week.
You may not be aware that more than 50% of
sight loss in the UK is avoidable.
On Thursday 26 January, Sight Concern will be
carrying out free simple sight checks at County Hall. The free
drop-in sessions are for anyone over the age of 50 and will take
place between 9am and 5pm. Residents who would like to attend the
session should follow signs for visitor parking at County Hall and
then go to Reception, where staff will be able to help.
The drop-in session is part of the Eyes Right
Project run by Sight Concern Worcestershire. The project aims to
prevent avoidable sight loss in Worcestershire. Residents will also
be able to get advice on eye health and healthy eating tips for
eyes at the session.
Kath Cheer, Eyes Right Co-ordinator,
said: "We're very pleased to be holding this session for
over 50s to drop in and get their eyes checked for free. I would
really encourage people to make the effort to come along, as a
short check up could save your sight."
