Latest county economic data now available
The Economic Summary was updated yesterday
(Wednesday, January 18) with the latest unemployment data,
published by Office for National Statistics.
The Economic Summary has been updated on the
website and has gone live.
The County Economic Summary for January 2012
reveals that the claimant count for Worcestershire in December 2011
was 10,729 (3.9% of the economically active population). This
represents an increase of 63 claimants in comparison to the
previous month and an increase of 493 on the same period last
year.
On average, the number of claimants has
decreased by 0.7% per month since August 2009, compared to an
average monthly increase of over 16% between November 2008 and
February 2009.
The number of notified job vacancies was
4,981.
