home
Worcestershire County Council's Malvern
Children's Home has been judged to be outstanding following an
unannounced Ofsted visit last November.
The official report released last month
(Friday December 16) follows the inspection visit which took place
towards the end of 2011 (Tuesday, November 15) and highlights

children and young people, safety of children and leadership and
management.
Inspectors pointed to areas of strength
including the accomplished staff helping young people to understand
their individual physical, emotional and psychological health
needs. Reference was also made to the strong leadership and
effective management of the home, underpinning the excellent
outcomes achieved for young people.
In addition, the inspectors judged the
service to be outstanding at keeping children and young people safe
and feeling safe and commented on the services high aspirations for
the young people. They reported that the young people flourish and
make significant progress in most aspects of their lives.
Worcestershire County Council welcomes the
findings of the report, which shows that progress is well underway
and the right steps are being taken for young people in the
County.
Cllr Liz Eyre, Cabinet Member for
Children's Social Care and Safeguarding, said: "This
report is a credit to the dedication and professionalism of our
members of staff. It is a true testament to their excellent
work and achievements, and I am delighted it has been recognised by
Ofsted.
"The County Council will continue its support
and endeavour to replicate this success in more of our children's
home, and provide a secure base for those young people who
count it as their home and to see that our focus continues to
support the lives, aspirations and outcomes of young people."
