Advice for the over 50s
Residents from across Wychavon are being
invited to attend a free drop in event being held at Evesham
Library next Thursday (16 February).
A Fifty Plus day is being held at the Oat
Street Library offering advice on all aspects of life for the older
citizen, from leisure and health to money and rights.
The day, which coincides with UKOnline's New
Year, New online you, will have a range of people on hand offering
help and advice including a solicitor, who can guide you through
writing a will and other legal matters, and
the University Of The Third Age offering taster sessions and
advice on leisure activities. Other present will be health
trainers to check blood pressure and advise on other health
matters, Evesham Volunteer Centre to talk about volunteering
opportunities; as well as Sight Concern and Rooftop Housing
Association's Older People service. Library staff will be on
hand to guide attendees through the pensions section of the
direct.gov website, and answer other computer queries.

Library Team Leader said: "The day will offer information
for those aged fifty plus who might be wondering about their rights
and health and how they will fill their time during retirement"
"This event will showcase the wide range of
opportunities and facilities for older people in the Evesham area,
anyone can come along and gather information for themselves, family
or friends".
Light refreshments will be available.
The free drop in event will run from 10am
until 2pm on Thursday February 16.
