Wifi arrives in Pershore Library
Following a successful pilot in one of
Worcestershire's libraries, the County Council is launching a new
free Wifi service in Pershore Library.
The new service allows users to surf the net
more easily and more quickly than ever before. Visitors can
also access the internet free of charge on the People's Network
computer which is available in all of Worcestershire's
libraries.
Jenny Brumhead, Library Manager,
said: 'It is important that libraries stay up-to-date and
use current technologies where possible to extend the services they
offer, meet customer expectations and appeal to a wide
audience.
"We hope that the availability of secure, free
wireless internet access at Pershore Library will offer a valuable
service to existing customers and new visitors and help to support
those who are studying, working or looking for work. We look
forward to other libraries across Worcestershire offering the same
service in the future."
Malvern, Redditch, Rubery, St John's,
Stourport, Tenbury, Upton, Worcester and Wythall libraries all
currently have Wifi installed.
