County Council's Waseley Hills Country Park celebrates
news of another national award
Staff at Worcestershire County Council's
Waseley Hills Country Park are celebrating after scooping another
top national award for the experience it offers to its
visitors.
The countryside site has received news that
it's achieved Country Park Accreditation as part of Natural
England's Country Parks Accreditation Scheme, which was launched by
the group last year.

It aims to ensure visitors to country parks
know what levels of high service to expect, such as access
facilities around the site or what toilet facilities are
available.
The scheme is considered as entirely
complementary to other schemes, such as the Greenspace quality
standard, the Green Flag Award, and will encourage more people from
towns, cities and villages to visit country parks.
Cllr Derek Prodger MBE, Cabinet Member
for Transport and Safe Environment, said: "We are
delighted to announce that another one of our popular countryside
sites has achieved national recognition.
"While the Green Flag award tells you a
country park is well managed, it doesn`t tell you what facilities
are available, which the Natural England accreditation scheme does.
Accreditation means that the public should expect minimum
facilities – for example, waymarked trails, leaflets, family
events, and a visitor centre. This award means that Worcestershire
residents, and visitors from outside the county, will know what to
expect when they visit the country park and be assured that their
visit will be enjoyable."
This news for Waseley Hills means both Country
Parks managed by the County Council now have this accreditation
after Worcester Woods County Park became the very first in the
country to receive the award last year.
