Wellbeing website is a hit – or 42,000 hits to be
precise
A website recently launched by Worcestershire
County Council to support the care needs and general wellbeing of
residents countywide has proved a hit.
Carewise – a partnership venture between
Worcestershire County Council with leading local voluntary and
community organisations – has recorded over 42,000 hits in its
first three months of operation.
Designed
to support those with different care needs, Carewise currently
holds details of 3,000 services and over 100 local events including
those aimed at people with mental and physical disabilities as well
as older person's facilities.
Committed to providing the best possible
service, Worcestershire County Council is listening to the views of
residents to improve the website.
At no extra cost a free Google translation
function, available in 52 languages has now been added, whilst work
has begun to grant different organisations direct access to add or
amend their own entries.
In addition, work is underway to offer a
series of advice pages with attached guidance notes and to enable
service users to directly communicate with provider
organisations.
Andrew Morley, Access Manager,
said: "We worked very hard to create a website that
provided detailed, useful information whilst being really
user-friendly and simple to use. It's great that so many people
have taken advantage of the service so far.
"We're always open to suggestions as to how we
can make things even better and so if you know of any local
services which are not listed or have any other ideas for how the
site could be improved please use the 'have your say' button on the
site to feedback to the development team in the Access Centre".
