Comment on Bromsgrove Area Action Plan and
regeneration
On behalf of Bromsgrove District Council,
County Councillors are invited to a special ‘stakeholders’
afternoon viewing of Bromsgrove Area Action Plan and Town Centre
Regeneration proposals at the Council House, Bromsgrove on
Wednesday 16 February between 2pm and
4pm.
The Area Action Plan (AAP) is a significant
addition to the planning policy within Bromsgrove as it will be the
spatial plan for the town centre, identifying the long term vision
for future regeneration and providing detailed policies to guide
smaller scale development in the town centre. The AAP provides the
planning framework for areas where significant change or
conservation is needed and can:
• Deliver
planned growth areas
•
Stimulate regeneration
• Protect
areas particularly sensitive to change
• Resolve
conflicting objectives in areas subject to development pressures,
or
• Focus
the delivery of area-based regeneration initiatives.
Clear aims and objectives need to be set
within an AAP, including the type and scope of developments /
enhancements to the public realm, the economy, public services and
transport initiatives. The Town Centre Regeneration team has worked
closely with the policy makers to do this and has drawn up proposed
uses for a number of regeneration sites in and around the town
centre.
As part of its public consultation process,
Bromsgrove District Council would now like to offer you the
opportunity to view these proposals and would welcome your comment
on the AAP and the regeneration plans. We would, therefore,
like to invite you to a special ‘stakeholders’ afternoon viewing of
the proposals at the Council House, Bromsgrove on Wednesday
16 February between 2pm and 4pm.
If you are unable to make this date, you are
very welcome to attend on one of the public dates listed
on the poster. Representatives from both Strategic
Planning and the Regeneration Team will be present at each
event.
In the meantime, you can
read or download the Bromsgrove Town Centre Area Action Plan
online.
Please let the team whether you will be able
to attend the meeting on Wednesday or any future date by emailing
