National Performance Indicator (NPI)
Worcestershire County Council monitors the impact of children’s
centres in relation to ‘National Performance Indicators’.
Statistical data and anecdotal evidence is collected from each
children’s centre and other agencies regarding the level, quality
and impact of the services provided. Children’s centres are also
required to complete a Self-Evaluation Form.
Core Offer
Children’s centres provide a wide range of services. Agencies
and organisations work together to deliver services that meet the
needs of children aged 0 to 5 years and their parents/carers.
Worcestershire is a mix of rural and urban areas and has a
diversity of families and communities. Each children’s centre
offers services tailored to meet that community’s needs.
A core set of services must be offered in the 30% most
disadvantaged areas. In all other areas services will vary to
reflect local need.
