Single Point Access (SPA)
Any professional will be able to refer to
Worcestershire CAMHS through a single point of access, starting
during the summer 2012. The SPA will manage referrals into CAMHS
tiers 2 & 3 by sign posting or offering a ‘Choice’ appointment
using the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA).
Partnership appointments will continue along
the pathway within the relevant locality or service. SPA will also
support the proposed changes to tiers 2 & 3 and will become a
gate keeper to the Tier 3 plus team. By working in this system
CAMHS staff will develop expert knowledge of the provision of
services in the county who offer support for mental health and
emotional wellbeing both statutory and non-statutory and will be
able to sign post accordingly.
To develop the aspiration of being an
‘outward facing’ CAMHS, the system will work with referrers to
educate them around appropriate referrals and the scope of what
CAMHS can offer by supporting referrers through the referral
process.
