Economic Development and Sustainability Unit

Working in collaboration with partner organisations including Worcestershire Partnership and the district councils, our Economic Development team works to ensures that Worcestershire's economy is to provide economic success that is shared by all.    

 

Our main aims include:

  • To promote Worcestershire's economy and sustainability interests at the national, regional, and sub regional level;
  • To develop effective strategies and policies to maintain full employment but promote higher skill, higher wage jobs and the ensure access for Worcestershire's communities to those benefits;
  • To help disadvantaged communities access the benefits of economic prosperity, to promote enterprise, and support and develop partnerships to ensure effective delivery;
  • To ensure that sustainability is 'mainstreamed' into the policies and services of the County Council and promoted throughout Worcestershire

A Prosperous Worcestershire is the County Council's vision in the corporate strategy 2011-2016, with Open For Business being one of four key "areas of focus". Find out more about the plans here.
