Types of activities offered

Bespoke Days

We use our tranquil surroundings and our unique blend of woodland skills and tasks, environmental ethics and creative activities to help teams look at how they work and communicate.

A package put together around your objectives.  After a prelimary meeting, a suggested programme of activities would be sent to you for approval.  Could be a mix of the types of activities below, could include some of the theoretical Myers Briggs / Belbin type of content!  Could be something suggested by yourselves.  We work with you to provide the type of day you need to fulfill your objectives.

Conservation Day

For up to 20 people, supervised by our Site Manager and Assistant.

Tasks would depend on the size and mobility of group, time of year, priorities of site management but could be:

  • clearance of invasive species - brambles / aspen suckers / for example
  • pond clearance using a rowing boat and life jackets
  • tree planting
  • path clearance

Traditional Skills Day -  suitable for smaller groups

Bushcraft days  -  enjoy a day in the woods learning about shelter building with natural materials, camp fire building, lighting and cooking, safe tool use and whittling techniques.  A wonderful place for new teams to bond!

Rustic furniture  -  create your own chair using sustainably sourced materials from Bishops Wood using traditional woodland skills

Whittling  -  come and have a go at the ancient art of whittling.  Sit around the camp fire and learn safe and effective skills required to work with your selected sustainably coppiced materials

Coppicing  -  enjoy and learn how this traditional form of woodland management benefits of wildlife biodiversity.
