Worcestershire County Council Libraries and Learning
Service provide a range of part time adult learning day and evening
courses. Whatever your age or background, everyone is welcome to
access adult learning activities that are designed to develop
personal skills and open new doors for you to gain new
experiences.
The Adult and Community Learning team travel to venues all over
the county where people may not have easy access to adult learning
through established education centres, such as colleges. We work in
informal settings, using venues such as libraries, church halls,
community centres, children's centres and school halls as bases for
our courses.
Will you get a
qualification?
Our aim is to help you get what you
want from your course. For some subjects (e.g. job seeking
and confidence building) accreditation is automatically included as
part of the course. As well as setting your own targets, you
will be supported to build a portfolio for assessment which will
help you gain formal recognition of your skills. For other
courses, accreditation may be offered as an optional element.
You will be able to discuss this with your tutor to decide what
will be right for you.
How can you find out
more?
This page has a list of all of our current
course profiles which you can download and browse. Otherwise, your
local library is a good place to find out what is going on in your
area. They will be able to tell you not only what they are
able to offer themselves, but also what else is available in your
local area. Each library can also access details of courses
at other libraries in the county, so will be able to refer you to a
course elsewhere if you are happy to travel a bit further afield.
You can always call us or email us using the contact details at the
bottom of this page.
