Act Local in Worcestershire
"Act Local in Worcestershire" is the new name for Think
Local in Worcestershire, which we
renamed following feedback from consultations. We
feel it better reflects Worcestershire County Council’s vision
of localism.
All references, therefore, to Act Local or "Act Local in
Worcestershire" either here or anywhere else, are
references to "Think Local in Worcestershire".

The Community Right to Challenge is
a national process introduced through The
Localism Act 2011. It makes it easier for voluntary or
community groups, parish councils or council employees to bid to
run local authority services.
Community Right to Bid
The Community Right to Bid is a
national process introduced through the Localism Act 2011. It
allows eligible groups the opportunity to identify and nominate
buildings or land that are of value to the local community and to
ask their local District Council to put them on a list of community
assets. Once listed, if the owner decides to sell the asset,
communities are given a 6 month window to prepare a bid to buy the
asset on the open market.
