Changes To Council Services
Alert issued on 17th January 2013
Changes/closures to services due to severe weather (Jan 18) - Including libraries, children's centres, registration services and day services
The Worcestershire Hub Contact Centre opened at 6.30am (instead of 8am) on Friday January 18th to support residents seeking information about possible service disruptions. The phone lines will be open until 6pm this evening.
If you have an emergency query outside of these hours, please call 01905 765 765 and you will be given the information to make contact with the relevant service.
It will open as usual on Saturday between 9am - 5pm.
Malvern Hills Customer Service Centre will close slightly earlier today at 4:30pm in line with the library.
The Worcester City Customer Service Centre at The Hive is currently open and will be closing at 5pm (as normal).
Redditch and Bromsgrove Contact Centres are closed.
Wyre Forest Customer Service Centre is open as usual.
The Hub centres in Tenbury and Upton are closed (in line with the closure of the Library).
The decision has been made to not open our day services today (18 January 2013).
Staff will be informing service users and families.
Children's Centres 18 January 2013
Tree Tops and Rainbow Children's Centres are both closed today. Before you start your journey on Monday please call the centre to check groups are running and the centre is open
Half Crown Wood Children's Centre will close today at 1pm due to severe weather conditions. If weather conditions continue over the weekend please call the manager, Janet Bonney, on 07500968560 before starting your journety to check groups are still running on Monday.
WANDS children's centre Droitwich will be closed from lunchtime today.
All Redditch children's centres will be closed for the remainder of the day.
Pear Tree and Sunny Fields Children’s Centres will be closing today. Pear Tree Children’s Centre’s office will close at 12 noon (SidemoorPre-school will remain open due to staff living within walking distance of the site).
Sunny Fields Children’s Centre will close at 11.30am as the midwife clinic finishes.
Cottonwood Children's Centre (East Bromsgrove) closed today.
Apple Vale Children's Centre will be closed today due to the weather. Please check our facebook page for updates.
Blossom Vale Children's Centre no services will be running today.
Teme Valley Children's Centre - due to heavy snow forecast for Friday there will be no outreach services taking place. Staff however can still be contacted via the office on 01886 812 982 between 9am - 4.30pm. If there is further snow over the weekend please ring the office to confirm if groups are going ahead before setting out.
Orchard and Spring Vale Children's Centres will be closed today, however if you have a health appointment with your midwife at the Children's Centre, please phone us on 01386 765467.
Conkers Children’s Centre and Tulip Tree Children’s Centre are closed.
Chestnut Children's Centre, Kidderminster DY11 is closed today due to worsening weather conditions. Please check our facebook page for updates for weekend services.
Sunshine and Evergreen Children Centres will not be open today.
Green wood and West wood Children's centre will be closed today and hopes to reopen on Monday the 21 January.
Riverboats Children’s Centre will be closed today.
Riverside Children's Centre is closed today due to the weather conditions.
Worcester City Children's Centres:
Due to the adverse weather conditions the following Children's Centres in Worcester City will be closed today (18.1.2013):
- Bluebell Wood Children's Centre
- Lavender Children's Centre
- Sunflower Children's Centre
- Tudor Way Children's Centre
Buttercup and Saffron Children's Centres are also now closed for today.
The following two centres will remain open today, unless the weather conditions worsen. However a reduced service may be offered.

In the interests of safety please contact these two centres before making your way to an appointment or group session. Staff will be available at both centres to offer advice and guidance.

Libraries operating normal opening hours today:
Libraries closing slightly earlier today at 4.30:
Stourport. The Job Centre at the library has closed.
The Hive will be closing early today at 5:30pm.
The following libraries closed earlier today:
Warndon. the Fairfield Centre will remain open, until 5.00pm and will take in any items which are returned. The Fairfield Centre PN terminals will also be available to use.
Redditch. Redditch Library aims to be open as normal tomorrow, Saturday (9am-5pm), however, please check before travelling.
Libraries closed all day:
Evesham mobile library will not be going out today.
Malvern Mobile library is unable to go out today.
The Library Service at Home (LASH) vehicle will not be going out today due to snow. Visits that were scheduled for today took place yesterday.
Fairfield Centre - a reduced library service in Warndon is operating from the Fairfield Centre. This will be available for the rest of the day.
Other services 18 January 2013
County Museum, Hartlebury will be closing at 12.30 today due to the snow and poor road conditions coming in and out of Hartlebury. Information regarding opening over the weekend will be added here once decisions have been made.
Update on registration services:
Bromsgrove, Malvern, WRH now closed
Evesham and Redditch will be closing at 12.30pm
Kidderminster will be closing at 1.15pm
Worcester will be closing at 2pm.
The Medical Education Team (MET) Unit at Easemore Road, Redditch – on the site of the Forge Secondary Short Stay School – will be closed today.
The Looked After Children Celebration Event, Worcester - Sunday 20th January - a decision has been made today to postpone this event due to the adverse weather conditions and concerns about travel arrangements. A new date will be arranged soon.
