Worcestershire County Council is encouraging eligible residents to renew their bus pass in advance of the expiry date to prevent any impact on their ability to travel after their pass has expired.

The English National Bus Concession Scheme offers eligible elderly and disabled people free travel on off peak local bus services anywhere in England.

75% of the 60,000 Worcestershire residents who need to renew their bus pass have already done so online or by phone. The majority who have renewed to date are aged 65 and over, with 45% of customers choosing to renew by phone and 30% online.

Renewing by phone or online is quick and easy and provides residents with the opportunity to do so at their own convenience. It also ensures residents will receive their new pass on time and can continue to travel as usual.

Councillor David Thain, Cabinet Member for Transformation and Change, said: "It's great to see so many residents choosing to renew their bus pass online or by phone. We aim to offer ways of accessing services which are convenient and easy to use and the fact that they have been so popular for bus pass renewals demonstrates that we are providing a useful service for our residents."

Residents with a bus pass that is due to expire can renew at www.worcestershire.gov.uk or by calling 01905 822788.
