Consultation on How Worcestershire residents receive information Directorate / Organisation Logo Now03/10/2008 - 28/11/2008
At Worcestershire County Council we think it is really important to keep residents informed about our services. This survey looks at how residents receive information. The results from this consultation will be used to tailor how the County Council and its partners communicate with its residents. All completed surveys will be entered into a competition to win a radio.
Waste Core Strategy Refreshed Issues and Options Consultation Directorate / Organisation Logo Now29/09/2008 - 19/12/2008
The Waste Core Strategy (WCS) is the plan for Worcestershire’s waste. The strategy will set out how all the different kinds of waste (except radioactive waste, farm manures and crop residues) produced by everyone who lives in, works in, or visits the County will be managed between now and 2026. It will make sure that there is significant capacity in the right place to manage the waste that is produced. The consultation is taking place to seek the views of those who live, work or travel within Worcestershire to help decide the most effective way to dispose of waste produced in Worcestershire.

The County Council and its partners want to develop integrated provision for positive activities (educational and recreational leisure time activities), information, advice and guidance and targeted support for young people who have additional needs. To develop this with partners who support young people will require new ways of working. In this context the Council wants to develop local commissioning of services and is proposing that positive activities should be the first activity to be developed this way. The proposals offer a key role to local strategic partnerships.

The survey is themed around Quality of Life and a number of topics related to communications with county residents; Worcestershire Hub, Word on Worcestershire magazine, Trading Standards, Sustainable Travel. Some of the questions are repeated from surveys in 2003 and 2005 and the results will help us to track changes in opinion over time

Thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery Fund Worcestershire County Council’s Library and Learning Service can make changes to the current building to suit the needs of the local community. To find out what outcomes young people would want from a housing support service that operated in North Worcstershire. The service would be aimed at vulnerable young people who need support in order to get or maintain a tenancy independently. We want to know why a young person may want to use a housing support service. What their expectations of services are and how a support service can help them to achieve independence.
