Worcestershire County Council's Learning Services is proud to announce that its Family Learning team have won a national award for their work within county primary schools.
The Campaign for Learning Family Learning Awards recognize organizations across the UK that demonstrate imaginative, engaging, and impactful approaches to working with families.
The Family Learning team from Worcestershire County Council’s Learning Services were singled out and awarded the 'Award for Family Learning to Support Health and Wellbeing'.
The award recognises courses that are put on for parents and carers within Worcestershire primary schools, including the Family Learning team’s “Marvellous Me” course. This brings parents/carers into their child’s school to learn about ways to improve their family wellbeing.
Grownups also get to spend time working alongside their child through a variety of exercises and craft activities.
Sarah Kean-Price, Project Manager at Campaign for Learning, commended the calibre of projects presented this year, “This year has brought some wonderful, inspiring and encouraging projects with a real breadth and depth of focus to different aspects of family learning. Each winning organisation had projects that impressed in multiple ways and there are some real key takeaways for the wider family learning community and discipline."
Jessica Harris, Family Learning Manager for Worcestershire County Council’s Learning Services, said it was a privilege to be chosen, "I'm absolutely thrilled and honoured by this prestigious Family Learning Award from Campaign for Learning. It's a huge nod to the hard work of our team, the fantastic support from Worcestershire Primary Schools, and the open-mindedness of parents and carers joining our 'Marvellous Me' course." Harris emphasized the importance of family involvement in learning and wellbeing, highlighting how the 'Marvellous Me' course embodies the council's commitment to supporting families in nurturing not just academic growth, but also mental health and wellbeing.
The recognition from Campaign for Learning underscores Worcestershire County Council's dedication to fostering holistic development and wellbeing within families. By offering innovative and engaging learning opportunities, the Family Learning team continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families throughout Worcestershire.
